How Do I Run For Council?

Open council seats and mayor seat are elected in the municipal elections every two years. To find out what seats are being run for, feel free to contact the borough secretary or the Huntingdon County Elections Office.

Any remaining open seats following the municipal election are to be filled by council vote. Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest to the council for consideration.

Individuals interested in running for a council seat must obtain a signature form from the county elections office and obtain 10 signatures of individuals registered under their party to be placed on the official ballot, otherwise they must run as a write-in.
